About
Känna / kana / 'feeling' (Swedish) 'explore' (Icelandic) and a metaphor for life’s challenges ‘waves’ (Japanese).
We don't believe in compromising on comfort, especially when it comes to our kids. They have important things to do! Our clothes empower boys and girls to get on with their daily missions feeling comfortable and happy.
Every Känna garment is designed to be as kind to the senses as possible:
-Minimal soft seams
-No irritating tags or labels
-Soft eco fabrics
-Easy on
-Stretchy soft waistbands.
We all love to be comfortable right? But we also want to feel good in what we’re wearing. If we don't feel good, the negative feelings can range from marginally bothersome to downright intolerable. Think tight waistbands, scratchy fabric, or just not feeling happy in a particular style. I think we've all been there!
If you're particularly sensitive to clothing – maybe with sensory processing difficulties – this can be very much worse.
We all feel better in our minds when we feel good in our bodies.
I’m Katie, mum of two gorgeous children. We live in the beautiful county of Devon in SW England, an area that inspires our work – our designs, our styles and our steadfast commitment to sustainability.
Our story began with my daughter. She wanted to wear lovely clothes but is very sensitive to anything that's not totally smooth and soft. Frills, bulky seams, scratchy fabrics, care labels, all affect her massively.

The clothing options we could find – and there was very limited choice – my daughter didn’t feel good wearing. We were stuck. So we have worked incredibly hard to create Känna. We decided that if we want to create clothing that makes all children feel good then it has to look good and feel good and be the very best quality. It has to be clothing that children want to wear and yet still be ultra comfortable. And it has to be for everyone.
[The photo shows her wearing an early prototype of our Riley sensory tee and Rosa ruffle skirt – and of course sensory socks, which we haven't looked at making (yet)].

We're so excited to be sharing with you our launch range, and we've loads more in store in the coming months. We'd love to hear what you think.
